James Patrick Edmonds (ur. 27 czerwca 1970) – amerykański baseballista występujący na pozycji środkowozapolowego.
W czerwcu 1988 w siódmej rundzie draftu przez California Angels i początkowo występował w klubach farmerskich tego zespołu, między innymi w Vancouver Canadians, reprezentującym poziom Triple-A. W Major League Baseball zadebiutował 9 września 1993 w meczu przeciwko Detroit Tigers. W 1991 po raz pierwszy zagrał w Meczu Gwiazd.
W marcu 2000 w ramach wymiany zawodników przeszedł do St. Louis Cardinals. Jako zawodnik tego klubu osiem razy zdobył Złotą Rękawicę, raz otrzymał nagrodę Silver Slugger Award, a w sezonie 2006 wystąpił we wszystkich meczach World Series, w których Cardinals pokonali Detroit Tigers 4–1. W MLB grał jeszcze w San Diego Padres, Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee Brewers i Cincinnati Reds. 4 lutego 2011 podpisał niegwarantowany kontrakt z St. Louis Cardinals, jednak w następnym miesiącu postanowił zakończyć zawodniczą karierę.
W marcu 2013 został sprawozdawcą z meczów Cardinals na kanale Fox Sports Midwest. W 2014 został uhonorowany członkostwem w St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame.

Judge Thomsen asks NY Times to divulge voluntarily source of its article on grand jury's secret presentment; says pub of facts he ordered expunged raises serious const issue of conflicting principles of free press and fair trial; says if Times will not disclose its source, 'we will have to consider all of issues which have been raised'; Times managing ed Rosenthal says Times never discloses confidential sources; Times counsel B C Howard files answer to Thomsen's earlier show-cause order seeking to restrain it from pub contents of presentment; says question has been made moot by pub of articles and by Thomsen's issuance of summary; argues ct has no jurisdiction over Times and no power to act against it because of 1st Amendment's protection of freedom of press, Thomsen says pub of article quoting from presentment text injects new element in case; says such pub violated his order that presentment be sealed; says he was told that Times conceded getting information from grand juror; sets July 13 as date for Times to comply with his request; concedes ct's power to act against Times is 'matter of considerable doubt'; asks for advice from Amer Bar Assn, Md Bar Assn, Baltimore City Bar Assn and Justice Dept; in earlier action, Thomsen read to grand jurors excerpts from his opinion which expunged presentment; then, in unusual move, he issued new order directing jurors and all officers of ct be 'forever restrained and enjoined' from disclosing any matters that grand jury took up
